- Not using furniture pads–
Skipping furniture pads may lead to intense scratches on your solid oak flooring or engineered oak flooring as unpadded furniture legs due to sitting movements, shifting motion, etc. may be enough to leave a scratch. Using furniture pads will prevent wooden floors from marks and will help your floor scratch-free. If not taken care, these scratches may affect your pockets heavily.
- Wearing high heels–
Wearing high heels around the house may cause serious destruction on your solid or engineered oak floorings. Not wearing heels is something we cannot agree; it’s not possible to completely avoid them. Heels are generally pointed particularly stiletto heels, due to this pointer they leave dents in the floor. So you can do your floors favor by leaving the heels at the doorsteps.
- Not cleaning pet strains right away–
No doubt pets are our family, but sometimes it may ruin your floors. If there are any pet stains on your floors make sure to clean it immediately to keep the damage to a minimum.
- Untrimmed pet nails–
Another way to ruin your wood floors can be caused due to your pets. Pet nails can, over time, add scratches into your floors if they grow too long and sharp. Time to time you should trim your pet's nails to avoid scratches on wooden floors.
- Not using or using wrong welcome mats–
No welcome mats mean people entering into the house with the outside dirt and grit that’s collected on the shoes. Rug pads are great for keeping your house clean but sometimes the wrong ones can leave marks and ruin your solid oak flooring or engineered oak flooring.
